Mutated Fruits and Veggies

During our study of plants, students worked together to “design” a new vegetable or fruit. They had to decide on a name, tell why they chose the combination, and explain its value-nutritional and economic. A brochure was made and presented to the class. They had great fun working in cooperative groups and communicating with their classmates.
Some of the new foods included: coconanas, mangomelons, bananalope, banapple, sanmelon( sandilla and honeydew), topenos (tomatoes and jalepenos). These children were very creative with their names
