Students at Center Point High School may earn college credit by taking internet courses offered at San Antonio College (SAC).  SAC offers a great selection of classes to our high school students allowing them to earn “dual credit” or credit for both high school and college.  Some of those courses include: English IV, Psychology, Criminal Justice, U.S. History, Government, and Economics.

To qualify for Dual Credit courses there are several steps a student must take.

  1. Most students will need to take the Accuplacer Exam.  Students will need to score at or above the following on each section in order to be admitted into the dual credit program.
    • Reading-78
    • Sentence Skills-80
    • Elem. Algebra-76 (EAR = 109 AND must have at least an > 86 on CLM to take Calculus)
  2. Complete a Dual Credit Consent Form (available in the counselor's office).
  3. Submit an official transcript along with a Letter of Intent to the Dual Credit Office.
  4. Apply to SAC online at www.ApplyTexas.org

For more information about the dual credit program please come by the counselor’s office or visit the SAC Dual Credit website.
