Center Point ISD Strives to Become the Best
by Steven Heidenreich
Center Point ISD “Recognized” by TEA
This last school year, CPISD showed good academic success by earning “Recognized” status by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). The Center Point Elementary School earned “Exemplary” status, the Center Point Middle School was Recognized”, and the Center Point High School earned “Acceptable” status. Exemplary status is the highest school rating that TEA awards to schools. The little Center Point School District, one of the best school districts in south central Texas with “Recognized” status plans to work even harder this next school year.
This school year, Stephen Heidenreich will be the Center Point School District Attendance Officer. One of the ways that the Center Point ISD plans to improve their academic performance is by improving school attendance. With students claiming “Attending School is Cool”, they will see the rewards of good school attendance. Consistent school attendance will result in the following for the Center Point Community, educational success, fewer unsupervised children getting into trouble, less family conflict due to school absences, less school disruption, improved achievement test results, higher graduation rates, improved future employment and pay, for Center Point Alumni and finally more scholarship funds available for post secondary school. The whole Center Point Community is going to be involved to help the school district accomplish improved attendance and thus better academic success. Many churches and businesses are teaming up with the school district to make the Center Point School District the best little school in south Central Texas.
