Elementary Teacher of the Month - October
November 16, 2009
The October Teacher of the Month for the Elementary Campus is Dolly Coldwell. Dolly teacher 5th grade.
Caring – Dolly goes the extra mile to work with her students to
ensure success. Dolly is always there when a fellow co-worker needs
her. Dolly is the symbol for this community. She always tries to
put CP in a good light. Dolly will go the extra mile for students,
the school, and the community. Dolly not only cares for the
students at school but also at home. She has even brought clothes,
shoes, etc. for children in need. She helps with the Stock Show, CP
Parade, Sports, etc.
Passion for Teaching – Dolly exudes a passion for teaching. The
kids know she is here for them and they respect her for that. Dolly
leads by example. She has always had a positive attitude toward
teaching. It is more than a job to her. She strives to bring out
the best in her students. Dolly shows by example that she has a
passion for teaching through her direct interaction with
students.
Inspiring – Dolly inspires children to do their best by using
different, inventive teaching strategies everyday. She brings real
world situations to the classroom to ensure learning takes place.
Dolly is very organized and very involved in the CP community
activities. Dolly possesses a tremendous amount of knowledge in her
subject area. Even though Dolly has taught for many years, she is
willing to change methods if it is beneficial for her students.
“I’ve heard students say they want to be like Mrs. Coldwell when
they grow up.”
Self-less – “Everyone can see Dolly’s self-lessness.” She never
refuses to assist students or teachers. She wears a lot of hats.
Dolly gives a lot of her time to assist with outside activities and
events so students can achieve their goals. “Dolly has a ‘What can
I do for you?’ attitude!!”
Dedication – Dedicated to teaching, going the extra mile for kids,
always our UIL leader, organized, outside the classroom, stock
show, sports. Dolly grew up in Center Point, went to college, and
came back to Center Point to teach. She then got her Principal
certification and has applied for a Principal position in Center
point. Dolly puts in countless hours for the Center Point
community!
