Daniel Smith is the secondary teacher of the month for December 2011.
Caring
Created a “gamers” club with the kids. They play on Friday afternoon and the kids really enjoy it. He organizes outings with fellow teachers. He helps them with different activities, such as theatre and UIL. He is also involved with community theatre.
Passion for Teaching
Captain Smith loves math and English Literature. He really gets excited when his TAKS math kids “get” something. He loves the varied challenge of teaching both subjects.
Inspiring
He inspires students and teaches self-control, kindness, and patience through his actions. He inspires fellow teachers to stick with it! His love of teaching is an inspiration to all and he is always offering kind words of encouragement.
Self-less
He is the most generous and selfless person I know. From helping students with tutoring, to running to the store, to getting lunch for a coworker; he is always willing to help.
Dedication
He is dedicated to Center Point. He is always saying how much he loves it here and encourages the students and staff to see the great things about this school
