Over the weekend. The Center Point ladies powerlifting team brought home two things...proof they are the best and a first for Center Point high school... a State Championship! It was a tough competition with fierce judging at the Waco Extraco Center but these ladies overcame injury and adversity to climb to the top and win first place. Over the Season, these ladies worked together, tested their physical endurance and mental toughness to end the season with a sisterhood they won't soon forget. Marissa O. and Monica V. won first place in their divisions. Jaylin H. took second . Adriana C. got 5th place ...Elidia G. 6 th and Brenda M. 8th place. Rounding out this victorious team Emily C., Lisa F., Raven B., and Mayra M.. Also special thanks to Coach Berry and Mrs Berry... without their help this winning season would not have been possible. It has been a season of early mornings and grueling workouts but this weekend the Ladies came back knowing 1... hard work does pay off and 2 ... it's a great day to be a a state championship Pirate!
Ms. Amber Purcell is the Secondary Teacher of the Month for February 2018! She has dedicated a lot of time to OAP including weekends, the making of costumes, and dealt with many misfortunate events. On top of everything else, she gives the best lessons to the students so that they may be ready for the End Of Course Exams.
Congratulations Ms. Purcell!
Center Point Elementary would like to recognize Carrie McCulloch as their Teacher of the Month for February. Mrs. McCulloch teaches first grade and helps provide reading support to students in other grade levels. She also serves on the PAT committee and helps plan fun events for parents, students and teachers. When asked to perform other duties on campus, Mrs. McCulloch gladly pitches in to help.
Mrs. Geurin, in her position as special education aide at the Elementary Campus, works with four exceptional students. Every day she challenges her students and truly appreciates their victories, big or small, which may include making friends, following class rules, social skills and taking personal responsibility for their actions.
Mrs. Geurin is a true advocate for her students who sometimes have difficulty in properly expressing or communicating what they want or feel. Every day she works with these children so that one day they may be an advocate for themselves. I think her greatest gift to Center Point Elementary and her students is her true love of children.
