2nd Semester/5th Six Weeks
Principles of Law/Correctional Services:
As we completed discussions regarding common problems within law enforcement, the next six weeks we turn our focus on the different levels and functions of Criminal Courts and the specific sentencing guidelines of convicted felons. Students will have an opportunity to enhance the learning process by participating in a mock trial of a student charged with Texting while Driving. Correctional Services class will receive lecture on Common Problems within Law Enforcement and complete a project dealing with specific issues regarding social media, body worn cameras and recruitment and retention.
Completed CPR/AED training. Guest speakers included nursing students from Schreiner University..
Guest speakers for this upcoming six weeks will include Officer Poole/Center Point Police Department and K-9 Game Wardens from Texas Parks and Wildlife. They will provide demonstrations and insight on career paths that support and serve their local community.
6th Grade Study Skills:
As we move into the next semester, we will focus on combining lessons learned with new material that will cover reading, writing, comprehension and spelling. They will be required to complete 1 book report and work together in pairs on several interactive activities. Students will continue to be evaluated on all areas of the learning environment with the use of classroom handouts and assignments.
