Community Education Yoga Class Schedule
All Level Kundalini Yoga on Monday Evenings (Favorite)
Instructor: Deborah—Jiwanpal Kaur—Hicks—Certified Kundalina Yoga Teacher and 2010 TCEA Community Education Instructor-of-the-Year
Materials Needed: Yoga mat and natural fiber blanket and/or floor pillow if you desire to have your own. Blankets are available to borrow in class. Please wear comfortable clothing.
Yoga Course Overview: Kundalini Yoga is known as the yoga of awareness. It uses kriyas, which are sets of yogic postures and movements (asana), along with breath work (pranayama); meditative focus and chanting (mantra). Kundalini Yoga not only brings health and wellness to the physical body, it is also useful for stress relief, mental clarity and emotional balance.
Additional benefits of Kundalini Yoga are:
Strengthens the nervous system
Enlivens a sense of awareness
Increases the energy level
Promotes a sense of peace
Increases lung capacity
Strengthens the immune system
Supports and encourages personal growth and transformation
Directs the consciousness of the mind to create happiness and health
The gong is used in class to create an acoustically unique sound which clears the mind, heals the body and elevates the spirit.
It is recommended that persons of all fitness levels and persons with medical concerns consult their physician or health care provider before beginning any new fitness program.
