On Saturday, October 15th, the Center Point Pirate Pride Marching Band competed at the UIL Region 29 Marching Competition at Dub Fariss Stadium in Northside ISD. The band was assessed by three judges and received a Division 2 (Excellent) rating for the performance of “An American Medley” by Barry Hurt.
Bands are placed into the following Divisions:
Division 1: Superior
Division 2: Excellent
Division 3: Good
Division 4: Below Average
Division 5: Poor
Last year the band received a UIL Division 3 rating at Marching Contest.
We are so excited with the growth and improvement of the marching band at Center Point.
Dolly Coldwell is Center Point Elementary's Teacher of the Month for September.
Mrs. Coldwell is continuously volunteering her time in causes that benefit all students, such as Junior Livestock Show, Elementary Gardening Club, and Elementary UIL. She strives to provide engaging lessons for her students and makes sure they are successful in the classroom. Mrs. Coldwell is also very supportive of all staff members at Center Point Elementary, as she lends a helping hand to whomever needs assistance from her. Center Point Elementary School is proud to have Mrs. Dolly Coldwell in our community to support our students!
The Secondary Campus teacher of the Month for September is Stephanie Gonzales.
Ms. Mary Evans is the Support Staff Member of the Month for September 2016!
Mary has many job responsibilities as the Secretary for the Support Services Department, which encompasses student and staff transportation, maintenance, custodial services and the food service department. She organizes all aspects of those departments and coordinates the needs of the district with the support staff members to be sure that all the things that need to be done on a daily basis and an "as needed" basis are done as quickly and effeciently as possible.
In addition to her responsibilities to the Support Service Department, she is also the Cheerleading Sponsor for Middle School and High School Cheerleaders.
Mary is always helpful, polite and answers the phone with a smile! She is a very dedicated member of the CPISD family.
