Welcome Parents!
This is will be your child's last year in Elementary. We have a lot of work to accomplish over the course of this year. This year your child will have to take three TAKS tests. They will have to pass the Reading and the Math TAKS tests in order to be promoted to the 6th grade. However, they will have several opportunities to pass. We will not take a Writing TAKS test, but we do have to take a Science TAKS test. Every year parents ask, "Do they have homework?" Homework is not given daily. Most of the time it is work that has NOT been completed in class, but they always need to be studying Spelling words or Reading, Social Studies, and Science vocabulary words!! Please note the school day has been extended. We will start at 8:00 and end at 3:40. Our daily schedule will look like this:
8:00-8:15 Opening-Check spirals, stoplights, homework-Daily Morning Lessons
8:15-8:30 Morning announcements-Checking daily lessons
