A New American Citizen

Vanesa Fuentes Sanchez is an American citizen now!  She immigrated to the United States with her husband, Luis DeLeon  and her daughter, Onice  in November 2003  from her native Guatemala. On January 22, 2010 she journeyed to San Antonio and took her citizenship test.  On January 28th, she was sworn in as an American citizen.

Vanesa works at Center Point Elementary and has steadily increased her English by listening, speaking, reading and writing.  She is what every teacher here considers a “success story.”

Not only is she a working woman, she is a mother of two of our students.   Her daughter Onice is in the 7th grade at Center Point Middle school and her son, Joseph is in PreK at Center Point Elementary.  Onice will also soon be an American citizen too!

We are so proud of Vanesa!   Her desire and drive to learn has really paid off. If you are interested in becoming an American citizen, please visit this website at www.uscis.gov. or call 1-800-375-5283.
