Every year, HSF selects 10,000 outstanding students as HSF Scholars from a broad and talented pool of applicants

  • HSF Scholars have access to a full range of invaluable Scholar Support Services, including career services, mentorship, leadership development, knowledge building, and wellness training
  • Career services include assisting Scholars with internships and full-time job opportunities
  • HSF Scholars are eligible to apply for all Scholar Conferences including, the National Leadership Conference, STEM Summit, Finance Conference, and Sports, Media, & Entertainment Summit

  • Eligibility to participate in HSF’s Fund A Scholar Program, a public-facing platform that allows individuals to donate directly to HSF Scholars through HSF

Eligibility:

  • US Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, or DACA
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students; minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for college and graduate students
  • Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school in the US for the 2026-2027 academic year
  • Complete and submit the 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • The HSF Scholar Program is open to students of all races who identify as being of Hispanic heritage

About HSF:

HSF empowers students and parents with the knowledge and resources to successfully complete a higher education, while providing support services and scholarships to as many exceptional students, HSF Scholars, and Alumni as possible.

 

Founded in 1975, HSF has awarded over $756 million in scholarships. HSF Scholars have access to valuable Scholar Support Services and, as funding permits, scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000.

 

Additional Important Information:

It takes an average of 30 minutes for students to complete Phase I of the 2026 HSF Scholar Program Application.

  • No essays, recommendations, or document uploads are required in Phase I. Simply have your students log in or create a myHSF profile to access the Phase I application

HSF Scholar Program Application Timeline:

  • January – Phase I opens January 5 and closes February 15, 2026, 2:00 PM PT
  • March – Finalists are announced and invited to Phase II
  • June – HSF Scholars pre-selection announcements are sent (Funded and Waitlisted Scholars)
  • June – October – Final Document Verification (financial aid award letter, enrollment verification, and related documents)
  • End of October – HSF Scholar designations are finalized, and initial awards are disbursed (if applicable) after the verification process is complete
  • Fall 2026 – Participation in HSF’s Fund A Scholar Program

-Complete the Entering Freshman Scholarship application by the deadline

-All applicants will automatically be considered for available Named and Chapter scholarships.

Deadlines:

Entering Freshman Scholarships application deadline is March 1 at 11:59 p.m. CST. Applying to The University of Texas at Austin via the Common App or ApplyTexas by December 1, automatically submits students to the Forty Acres Scholars Program. Students will be contacted if selected to move forward in the process.

Eligibility-An applicant must be a Senior graduating in the spring of 2026 from one of the following schools:  Tivy High School, Ingram Tom Moore High School, Center Point High School, Harper High School, Our Lady of the Hills High School, or Hill Country High School.  Applications from students living in Kerr County and graduating from an accredited home school program will also be considered.

Hill Country Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (HCTC) wants you to pursue your dream of obtaining a higher level of education. Whether you are seeking an associate, bachelor, or technical certification, you may qualify for an HCTC Scholarship.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicant must:

  • be of the 2026 high school graduating class.
  • have at least one parent/legal guardian who is a member/customer of HCTC.
  • plan to attend an accredited institution (college, vocational or technical school) on a full-time basis (at least 12 hours).

While above average grades are an asset, they are not required to compete for this scholarship as other factors will also be considered (i.e., leadership qualities, participation in extracurricular and community activities, and teacher recommendations).

Legal Guardian is defined as court ordered. Member/Customer is defined as having service in the parent or legal guardian’s name with Hill Country Telephone Cooperative/HCTC.

Academic Scholarship 

The Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce encourages our area youth to realize their potential through hard work. This Scholarship Program will provide financial assistance for higher education to area students. 

Award

One $1,000 scholarship to be used exclusively for expenses at an accredited public or private college or university.

 

Eligibility

Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who are enrolling for the first time in a full-time course of study at an accredited public/private college or university in the State of Texas.

Applicants must be able to meet the requirements of the college or university selected.

Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 while in high school.

The applicant must submit a completed application, an official high school transcript, two letters of recommendation from teachers, principals or counselors from the high school currently attending, and a FAFSA summary.

 

Program Guidelines

The Education Committee of the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce will choose candidates for the available scholarship to be awarded.

Scholarships will be granted to attend a public/private college or university in the State of Texas.

Scholarship recipients must be considered by the registrar to be a full-time student.

Awarded scholarships will be mailed directly to the Financial Aid Office of the selected college or university.

Scholarship Awards will be announced in April 2026.

Vocational Scholarship Program

TTA Foundation Scholarship

The Texas Telephone Association Foundation (TTAF), a non-profit, philanthropic organization founded to help further the understanding of telephony and advance telecommunications as a career choice, will award six, four-year scholarships, in the amount of $2,000 per year to students entering college for the 2026-2027 school year.

 Through March 14, 2026, the TTA Foundation will accept applications for scholarships to be granted beginning Fall 2026. It is our intention to fully review every application submitted. The Scholarship Committee will make its selections from those applications which meet the following criteria and include the required materials: 

♦ U.S. Citizen; 

♦ Student graduating from a Texas high school no later than June 2026 from a school within a TTA member company’s service area. 

♦ Student achieving a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher (out of a possible 4.0);

 ♦ Student planning to attend a Texas college or university by the Fall of 2026 

♦ A completed application postmarked or emailed no later than March 14, 2026, including a current transcript 

♦ A letter of acceptance from a Texas college or university where student has been accepted. 

♦ Student typed essay, consisting of between 300 - 1,000 words explaining their qualifications for the scholarship, their future goals, and how the scholarship will assist them in achieving those goals. 

♦ Copy of student’s SAR (Student Aid Report). 

♦ Do not send incomplete applications. Do not send additional information to be added to your applications once the original application has been sent. 

Please note--special consideration will be given to students who will be pursuing a college degree in fields of study which are of particular interest to telecommunications (such as math, business, education, technology, engineering, and computer science, etc.). The courses of study in high school, extra- curricular/civic activities and demonstrated leadership will also be considered.  

By late April, the TTA Foundation Scholarship Committee will select six (6) finalists to receive four-year scholarships in the amount of $2,000 per year.

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY

 

  1. Student must be a graduating Senior with plans to attend a University, a 

2-year College, or Technical Trade School.

 

  1. Students planning to attend a four-year University must have a minimum High School GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

 

  1. Students planning on attending a two-year College or Trade School must have a Minimum High School GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. 

 

  1. On-Line Universities are not eligible for the Scholarship




 

General Instructions for Completing the Application



 

Applications must be either typed or hand-written, and must be LEGIBLE.  Any application deemed not legible by the Scholarship Committee will be disqualified.

 

Applications will be picked up by the Knights of Columbus Scholarship Committee in the counselor/scholarship coordinator’s office on Thursday, March 26th.  Therefore, each applicant must submit his or her completed application to the school counselor in sufficient time for the counselor to complete his or her portion of the application. Please coordinate with your counselor as to the date you should submit the application to the office.  

As stated, the Knights of Columbus Committee will pick up all completed applications on Friday, March 27th.  Applications not received by the due date will not be considered. 

 

APPLICATION & SCHOLARSHIP PROCEDURES



 

The Kerrville Knights of Columbus Father Kemper Council Scholarship Committee will evaluate all completed and qualifying applications.  One applicant will be chosen to receive this year’s scholarship through an evaluation process – a process established by the scholarship committee prior to the review of any applicant’s file.

 

The scholarship is for $5,000.00, payable in installments of  $625.00 per semester for 8 semesters.

 

The semester amount of a scholarship ($ 625.00) will be paid directly to the College, University, or Technical Trade School.  Confirmation by the Institution of the Student’s acceptance at that Institution must be provided to the Knights of Columbus prior to releasing any scholarship monies to the institution.  The student is similarly RESPONSIBLE for providing the council with the appropriate contact information for the College, University, or Trade School for disbursing any funds to the educational institution.  

 

The second semester payment is contingent on the student COMPLETING a full course load (Minimum of 12 semester hours) and with a minimum of a passing grade in each course taken.  To receive the second semester payment the student must provide a COPY OF A CURRENT GRADE REPORT, INCLUDING  SEMESTER  HOURS  CARRIED, to the Council for verification.  Also any change in the College, University, or Trade School's payment process shall be provided.  This information should be sent to:

Eligibility:

-Students must reside in Kerr County or attend school in Kerr County.

-Applicants shall be a local high school Female.

-The recipient must show evidence of academic success and the intent to pursue a higher education at an accredited college or university

-When all other criteria are equal, greater consideration will be given to the applicant evidencing the greater financial need. 

-The EWC Scholarship application must be completed with all supporting documentation and returned by the deadline of April 1st. 

-Completed applications may be submitted to the school counselor or mailed directly to :

-The recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA, show proof of registration of at least 12 credit hours, and provide grades to committee chair at the end of each term. If the recipient fails to do so, no funds will be dispersed.

The purpose of this scholarship is to assist a student, residing within its geographic area, with his/her
education towards an associate or bachelor’s degree at a Texas college, university or trade school. A child,
grandchild, niece or nephew of a Joshua D. Brown chapter member, living anywhere, is also eligible to apply
for this scholarship.
Application must be postmarked no later than April 1, 2026. The scholarship amount this year is $1500.
Eligibility
1. Applicant must be scheduled to graduate by June 2026.
2. Applicant must be a resident of Texas.
3. Applicant must complete the application form.
4. Applicant must have a recommendation from school counselor.
The scholarship will be announced after May 1, 2026. Scholarship winner will receive funds upon proof of
acceptance at an accredited Texas university or college. The check will be made out to the student and
School.

Sarah Jane Goss Brown Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to assist a student, residing within its geographic area,
with his/her education towards an associate or bachelor's degree at a Texas college or
university or trade school. A child, grandchild, niece or nephew of Joshua D. Brown chapter
members, living anywhere, is also eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Application must be post marked no later than April 1, 2026. The scholarship amount this year
is $1,500.
Eligibility:
1. Applicant must be scheduled to graduate by June 2026.
2. Applicant must be a resident of Texas.
3. Applicant must complete the application form.
4. Application must write and attach an essay explaining what challenges they have overcome in their
education.
5. Applicant must have a recommendation from an adult (not a family member).
6. Applicant must have applied to or been accepted to a college, trade school or university.
7. Applicant must have one of the following disabilities to qualify for this scholarship:
a. Physical Disabilities (Blind, Deaf, Amputee, etc.)
b. Social disabilities (ADHD, ADD, Social Communication Disorder, Non-verbal learning disabilities,
etc.)
c. Intellectual Disabilities (Autism, Down Syndrome, Developmental Delays, etc.)

This scholarship will be announced after May 1, 2026. Scholarship winner will receive funds
upon proof of acceptance at an accredited Texas college, trade school or university. The check
will be made out to the student and the school.
